Recently, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), PRC has issued the formulation and revision plan for the second industrial standards, and their foreign language versions. This time, 261 standards will be drawn up, and 91 ones revised, 352 ones in total.

Testing Methods of Sewing Machinery's Energy Consumption Part I: Lockstitch Sewing Machine (plan no. 2021-0559T-QB) submitted by National Technical Council for the Standardization of Sewing Machinery has been approved for initiation. It's amended based on Energy Consumption Measurement Methods of Industrial Sewing Machine: Computer-controlled High-speed Lockstitch Sewing Machine (QB/T 4384-2012), which is originally published in 2012; the revised version will further define the energy-saving and environment conservation regulations applicable to lockstitch sewing machine, and lay a solid foundation for the research and development of a new generation of such machine characterized with being intelligent. Moreover, the revision of standards will ameliorate the product technology and QA system, and meet the demands of clients at home and abroad better.

National Quality Supervision and Inspection Center for Sewing Machine will lead the standards drafting, which will be finished in 2022 as required by MIIT.
